I'd think that Rock is something that was bound to happen because we invented electric guitar. Nothing else. New age music . Some instruments , art forms are forgotten in the flow of time as something new comes in. And Rock is just beginning . It will catch up .its nice that 'localization' is happening , its still in infancy , still beginning to penetrate.

Now it would be totally ignoring the diverse art forms found in India if we refer to just Hindustani and Carnatic as India's music. There are a lot others. Most art forms in India are performed just after the harvest . Thats entertainment for masses, when they want. Come on man ! tell me that a Bhangra doesn't rock ! Think of Sufi's and sanyaasis , the drug induced utterings , bhajans , dude thats also rock ! its just that its not loud . ONe more thing . THink of the music that has penetrated the deepest parts of India, yes , Filmi GAane ! TO say that the comman man can't enjoy those !! Dude we have our own Localized stuff. This is something you wont find anywhere in the world , no ? And you have people writing lyrics all over the place. people bringing out albums , good music..aah it needn't always be rock.

Well, rock is good and its good that lots of guys are beginning to bring it out in their own language. But weeping for locals who don't have access to rock is........

One more thing , one man's truth and principles in life are his own. Others can choose to be inspired by him. It can be Buddha , it can be Lars Ulrich , it can be Pinaraayi Vijayan , it can be Mr Syed. Calling someone crazy because he doesnt agree with your frame of reference is merely a difference in thought co ordinate systems.

funny.. such people who seem to enjoy complex art forms having no clue about it, are like those that relish Buddha's story having no clue about whats really happening. hmm... the essence of larger life is not to be desultory. Its like a more learned person seeing more in something shown to him than a lesser individual. secondly, every form of art, more than religion, is targeted towards enjoyment of the masses. And headaches? bush would cry if you recite to him islamic principles and awesomeO might feel the same about biblical sermons, which are both pleasant for many other people, because of lack of profound knowledge about whats really happening and blindly believing things just because someone told them from childhood that its really cool. :-P like they say, the literate of the 21st century is someone who can re-learn.. as in always have the ability/mentality to "learn". finally, did our revolutionaries really awaken us? anyways, I was just proposing "one more" marketing option above what they already have. ;-)
